HOW TO STAY ACTIVE WHILE WORKING REMOTELY?

Active breaks are breaks of 10 to 15 minutes that you can take advantage of, to move your body.
After the Covid-19 pandemic, many of us went from being in an office to working from home. Long working days sitting in front of a computer has resulted in a lack of physical activity and discomfort in our body, mainly in the neck and back.
It is recommended to take active breaks every two hours if your workday lasts eight hours, in order to improve the worker’s performance.

What are active breaks?

Active breaks are breaks of 10 or 15 minutes in which you can perform various actions that promote the physical activity of workers. In addition, it reduces fatigue and prevents stress.
In this way, the health of the collaborators would improve, and the production environment will be maintained.

What exercises are recommended?

  • Neck: Keep your back straight, cross your arms behind your head and try to bring them upwards.
  • Arms: Bring your arm to the opposite side and with the other hand bring it toward your shoulder.
  • Shoulders: Raise and lower your shoulders as much as possible. Rotate in both directions.
  • Hands: Stretch your arm out in front of you and open your hand as if you were making the stop sign. With the help of the other hand, bring all your fingers backwards.
  • Legs: Step forward with your heel on the floor and bring the toe of your foot toward your body. Then, lift your knee up as far as you can. Keep your back and supporting leg straight.

Active breaks are short rest periods within the workday that are recommended to recover energy, improve performance and reduce muscle fatigue through different techniques and exercises.
